Just Because You Can, Does It Mean You Should?

Oct 4, 2026  •  Anthony Sherrer

Just because you can do something, does that mean you should?

Sometimes we become so focused on whether something is allowed that we never stop to ask what that choice is actually doing—to us, to the people around us, and to our witness for Jesus.

In 1 Corinthians 10:23–33, Paul challenges believers to look beyond personal freedom and consider a bigger question:

How do I live a life that glorifies God?

In this message from the Christlike in a Christless Culture series, Pastor Anthony walks through three questions that can bring clarity to the choices we make:

Does this build up?

Consider the value of my choices.

How will this affect others?

Consider the impact of my freedom.

Will this point people toward Jesus?

Consider the purpose of my life.

Because a life that glorifies God considers more than what I can do; it considers what my choices will do.

Our lives are communicating something about Jesus every day. The question is: When people look at our lives, how clearly can they see Him?
